Pulycort has two Crema Marfil processing centres, in La Romana and Monforte del Cid in the province of Alicante (Spain).
La Romana contains the production centre where the processing of the Crema Marfil starts. The blocks are carried from the quarry on trucks adapted for transporting this type of material. The marble blocks are of very considerable volume and weight and require important safety measures when loading in the quarry, during transport and while unloading at the factory.
Once the ivory cream block arrives at the processing centre it is processed in the cutters or polishers, depending on its properties. In this phase, the compact marble block is turned into slabs of a given thickness, ready for the next step.
The slabs from the cutters are treated to reinforce them and then given the required finish.
There are two options in this phase – either the marble slab is sold directly to the client or the preparation process continues.
The slabs are cut by discs into forms that are more suitable for placement on site. As well as housing our company’s major processing centre, the central Pulycort offices are located here, containing all departments – sales, financial, technical, human resources and management.
Pulycort La Romana has 55,961 m² of installations arranged for an efficient and effective production process. There are also finished product storage areas that considerably reduce delivery times.
The Pulycort facilities in Monforte del Cid saw the start of our company more than 25 years ago, with little machinery but with great ambitions to do things well.
Pulycort Monforte del Cid currently has 11,538 m2 of installations and is the processing centre specialising in made to measure projects, making stairs and special pieces. It also produces slabs of standard measurements and is an essential support for the La Romana processing centre.
